Planet Search

Reliable and up-to-date information about the country of origin is essential for supporting an asylum claim because it can provide important evidence that can lead to the recognition of the refugee status. Country of Origin information includes - on the one hand - general information, for example on the course of a conflict,  on rivalries between certain groups or concerning the risk of persecution for ethnical or religious reasons. On the other hand, it also includes detailed information about specific events, dates, places, parties, groups or institutions in the country of origin of the asylum seeker. Finding this information is often difficult and time consuming.

Planet Search is the service of Flemish Refugee Action that provides such objective and accurate information about the country of origin through desk research of a wide range of sources and a specialized database.

You can contact Planet Search each working day by telephone or email. We will try to provide you with the documentation as soon as possible.

Planet Search can also guide you through your own internet search.

• Planet Search sends you the information by post, fax or email.
• Price: 75 euro

You only need information occasionally

The first question will be answered for free. After this you pay 10 euro per question. This price includes the research in a specialized database.
